Doing laundry is one of the most time-consuming work for any household. To someone who is not responsible for doing laundry regularly, it may seem a very easy job;  But for those who do it regularly, it is a detailed process which requires efficiency.   For example, the whites and the colored clothes need to be separated, delicate wear clothes  need to be put in laundry mesh bag so that they don’t lose shape. Also some clothes need to be hand-washed! Hence to help you out, here are some tips for making you an expert on laundry.

  • To start with, sort your clothes one by one. Empty all the pockets of the pants (especially pockets of your little ones who store all kinds of things in there, and, unpin all pins and buckles. Unzip any zippers and secure velcro closing,  to avoid abrasion. Snaps and hooks need to be closed before you put them in the washing machine.
  • As for small items like socks, it is best if you can put them in a mesh bag or even a pillowcase to avoid bundling
  • Choosing the right detergent is a must. Depending on your washing machine type, choose the detergent. However, there are some detergents like Safed Detergent which are good for any kind of washing process – be it bucket or machine wash. That way, if there are just one or two clothes you need to wash, you can wash by hand and for a larger load, you can use the washing machine. You will not need to spend money on buying two different kinds of detergent when you have Safed Detergent.
  • For clothes with tough stains, don’t put them directly  into the machine. Treat the stain first and then put it inside  the machine. You can add Safed  detergent AAA directly on the stains and rub it with little water and see the stains come out., When it comes to removing tough stains, Safed detergent is the best solution.
  • Whites, as we all know, needs to be washed separately. If you want a home DIY solution to keep them whitest white, just soak them in water mixed with bicarbonate of soda before you wash them. The ratio should be around 180 gm of soda in about 4 liters of water. Another good DIY for keeping whites white is adding white vinegar when your washing machine is in the rinse cycle. These two methods are also good for removing bad odor from clothes. The best option is to switch to a detergent like Safed Detergent.
  • If you have a high-efficiency washing machine, you need to select your detergent very carefully. Such machines use much less water and hence if you are using an ordinary detergent, there is a high chance that soap residue will be left on your clothes.Else you will need to repeat the rinse cycle which kind of negates the purpose of such machines.  the recommended amount as mentioned on the back of pack.
