Unless you have a suitcase that has unlimited storage space, it is not possible to have clean clothes every day while traveling. Whether you are on a business trip or a holiday, clothes are sure to get dirty. Washing clothes at the hotel you are staying costs a lot, so for those who frequently travel; it is not uncommon to see a pouch containing sachets of their favorite detergent brand like Safed. If you are looking for tips on how to clean your clothes while traveling, here are some pointers.

  • For starter, where should you wash your clothes? Unless there are a bucket and a mug in the bathroom, your choice is limited to the sink or the tub, if any. Close the sink and let some water accumulate before you dissolve your detergent in them. Small clothing items like undergarments, tops can be washed in this way. If there is a bathtub, you can try washing the bigger item of clothing, but it is best to avoid washing the whole clothing item. If there is a stain or something, just soak that part in water and apply the detergent to that part only and wash. It will take less time to dry and practical for hotel rooms where you don’t have a place to hang them.
  • For small clothing items mentioned above, the shower curtain, bathtub or sink is a good place for them to let dry. If your hotel room has an adjoining balcony, then, of course, that is the best place to hang your clothes to dry. Some hotels even provide cloth hangers for the guests for that purpose. But then again some hotels have strict regulations against guests hanging their clothes on the balcony or even windows to dry. The thing to look out for is that, you don’t leave dripping water everywhere. Just wring the clothes well before you put them to dry especially if you are drying in the room or the balcony.
  • Pro-travelers even carry a little roll of rope with them and some clothespins. That comes in handy while drying clothes in the room or the bathroom.
  • If you are traveling for long and have a load to wash, then washing in the hotel room is not the solution. The best option, in that case, is to find a Laundromat. These are the places where you can wash clothes by weight in washing machines. They also come with dryers, so you do not need to further dry the clothes. The cost is also much less than what the hotel will charge you for. This option is best for a family that has been on the road for long.
  • While choosing the detergent, go for detergents that work best with all kinds of water even hard water. That way they will need less water to wash off. There are places where water is very scarce and hotel rooms have limited amounts to give to each guest. Safed Detergent is perfect in such cases as it washes off easily, removing even the toughest stains and works well with hard water.
